Apex Debuts DivX Certified DVD Players

Apex is releasing its first DivX Certified home DVD player which also supports MP3 and WMA audio formats.

The first DVD player product of a wide ranging strategic partnership between DivX, Inc. and Apex Digital, the AD-1250X will be available from retailers across the country this month. The AD-1250X offers users unprecedented flexibility in watching pre-recorded discs and discs that they have created from their own multimedia content. Apex plans to have all of its new products DivX Certified.

The AD-1250X couples high quality, Progressive Scan, pre-recorded DVD video and CD audio playback with the ability to also handle DVD+/-R/RW, CD -R/RW and Kodak Picture CD discs. In addition to the DivX compatibility, the AD-1250X can also display JPEG images and playback audio files stored in the MP3 and Windows Media Audio formats.

Suggested retail price of the AD-1250X is $69.00.

chill at 11:49pm 18th March 2006 The apex AD1250X sounds too good to be true---and for me it was. The 1 year parts and 90 days parts and labor warranty was perfect! 94 days after purchase the player quit loading "anything" even a dvd cleaner. They want $37 labor to fix it and you pay shipping to get it there. I told them I couldn't see spending $50 on a $74 dollar purchase made just 94 days ago. They refused to go the extra 4 days on the warranty even when I told them I have bought 5 apex players in the last two years. If you decide to try one----good luck!!!
Buddy at 6:59am 14th January 2006 We had had several DVD players that would not play DVD R+ or DVD R-. Some high price DVD players. They would start playing and into the movie they would frezz up. But After buying a apex, we never had that problem again. I now have an apex to every TV in the house.

Emo at 5:21pm 6th June 2005 For those of you that have never had an Apex, they are awesome players. Maybe not the sleakest, but we've tested them! They will play anything and compaired to the high-end $300 panasonic players, the mother of all players. Any type of disc works! and if you treat your player right it lasts longer... granted maybe they don't take a beating quite as well, but for the price! you can buy another one and watch anything and get a couple more before you paid for one of those other players. I love my Apex! :)
Mugsy at 11:30am 28th April 2005 One thing Apex is known for, however, is releasing cheap products that force other manufacturers to lower their prices.
And really, they use the same components as everyone else, so the quality is not as bad as one might think.
