The apex AD1250X sounds too good to be true—and for me it was. The 1 year parts and 90 days parts and labor warranty was perfect! 94 days after purchase the player quit loading “anything” even a dvd cleaner. They want $37 labor to fix it and you pay shipping to get it there. I told them I couldn't see spending $50 on a $74 dollar purchase made just 94 days ago. They refused to go the extra 4 days on the warranty even when I told them I have bought 5 apex players in the last two years. If you decide to try one—-good luck!!!

We had had several DVD players that would not play DVD R+ or DVD R-. Some high price DVD players. They would start playing and into the movie they would frezz up. But After buying a apex, we never had that problem again. I now have an apex to every TV in the house.

For those of you that have never had an Apex, they are awesome players. Maybe not the sleakest, but we've tested them! They will play anything and compaired to the high-end $300 panasonic players, the mother of all players. Any type of disc works! and if you treat your player right it lasts longer… granted maybe they don't take a beating quite as well, but for the price! you can buy another one and watch anything and get a couple more before you paid for one of those other players. I love my Apex! :)

One thing Apex is known for, however, is releasing cheap products that force other manufacturers to lower their prices.
And really, they use the same components as everyone else, so the quality is not as bad as one might think.

I thought apex already had divx certified players that came out a couple years ago??

apex is not known for their superb quality…
