Audioengine Offers Up Speaker System

The new Audioengine 5 bookshelf speaker system is designed for use with iPods and other portable audio systems.

Audioengine, a developer of speaker systems, announced in late February the release of a new speaker system specifically designed for iPods and other portable audio systems. The new Audioengine 5 ispriced at $349 and available now.   The Audioengine 5, said Audioengine, has a built-in top combo port for iPods which charges the playerwhile you are listening to music. The iPod is plugged directly into the combo port and is compatible with the fifth generation iPod, iPod nano and other Click Wheel style iPods.   Other featuresof the Audioengine 5 include an AC power jack built directly into the rear panel so it can provide power to items like portable and standard A/V equipment, an auxiliary mini-jack for audio input fromproducts like non-iPod MP3 players, a USB output for powering compatible devices, built-in amplifier, built-in 5

  1. John at 5:52am 5th April 2006 These speakers are very cool. I've tried them out and they sounds great with MP3s and amazing when you plug your iPod into them. I recommend them to anybody looking for good Studio-like speakers. If I don't win Gadgetell's giveaway, I'm going to get some I think.
