Axiom W Series Speakers Go In-Wall
New speakers from dedicated loudspeaker maker feature a slim design which extends less than 3.5 inches from the wall.
Loudspeaker company Axiom Audio yesterday said they were unveiling a new line of in-wall/on-wall hybrid speakers called the W Series. Three pairs of models make up this line and are priced from $220 to $325.
Axiom said the W Series are “carefully tuned enclosures†that come in five finishes, recess into the wall and keep the speaker’s drivers away from any potential sound issues with possible sound degrading problems in the wall. The enclosure uses a porting system which allows the speakers to deliver “neutral, wide-range transparent sound with tonal balanceâ€. The speakers have a slim profile which is designed to compliment flat screen TVs and the like.
The overall design, Axiom said, extends less than 3.5 inches into the wall and come with a mounting template to aid installation.
“These new in-wall/on-wall hybrids are a breakthrough,†said Axiom founder and President Ian Colquhoun. “They sound as good as our regular bookshelf models, which means that our customers can now enjoy the benefits of an in-wall design without compromising sound quality. I’m really proud of the fact that our integrated enclosure design avoids the tonal imbalances that characterize most conventional in-wall speakers.”
