BenQ Launches New 30-inch LCD TV
BenQ today introduced a 30-inch LCD TV (DV3080). The company will begin marketing for the product later this month in Taiwan, with US and European launches following later.
The DV3080 has a 600-nit brightness and a contrast ratio of 600:1, and features Oplus scaling technology, 10-bit color processing and RGBY (red, green, blue, yellow) independent adjustment technology. In addition to supporting standard TV technologies such as de-interlacing, 3:2 pull down recovery, PIP (picture in picture) and PBP (picture by picture), the DV3080 also supports digital TV (DTV) reception and can be used as a PC monitor.
Aimed at the home appliance market, the DV3080 is modestly priced at NT$79,900 (about US$2388), Chih said. He explained that the pricing reflects the company’s expectation for LCD TV prices to continuing falling in the future, adding that Teco Electric & Machinery, a Taiwan-based home appliance maker, cut its 30-inch LCD TV prices by NT$10,000 in April.
