Blu-ray Favored Over HD-DVD in Poll

Side-by-side comparision of two next generation disc formats suggests Blu-ray has an early edge towards the winner's circle, according to trade association.

In the early days, war between the two futuristic disc formats would be decided not by sales, but instead by polls. And the winner of one of these early skirmishes would be Blu-ray Disc, trumping HD-DVD as the favorite amongst a random sampling of potential viewers.

The poll, conducted by Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates, concluded consumers

  1. Ian Bell and Dan Gaul at 9:56am 14th July 2005 A couple things I would take into consideration.

    1) Trendsetters are not happy with Hollywood right now due to copyright suits and laws, and Hollywood is backing HD-DVD
    2) The PS2 will support Blu-Ray and that excites gamers/early adopters
    3) Technically, Blu-Ray is a better technology and supports larger storage specs
