DIRECTV Sues Signal Thief

DIRECTV issues a lawsuit in the Canadian court system against a well known signal thief.

DIRECTV has taken a signal thief, who has already been served a permanent injunction order, to court.  The complaint alleges that Elio Gino D’Amario, of Hamilton, Ontaro, resells pirate signal devices on a website despite a court order compelling him to stop.  D’Amario was first identified in 1999 as being involved with a network of online companies selling pirate cable box supplies.

A raid in conjunction with the complaint has taken down the website.  Contempt of such orders may lead to serious repercussions, such including jail time.
