DivX is working with Music Video Wire on a contest for independent filmmakers.
DivX, whose compression codec is well known for fans of online videos, has launched a music video contest featuring the work of independent filmmakers. The contest is co-sponsored by Music Video Wire, and is accepting open submissions from July 13th to August 3rd. Finalists will be chosen by industry professionals, and awards will be determined by both viewers and professionals alike.
Prizes include DivX certified software and electronics, as well as being shown to a global audience. Viewers will be able to see the winning contestants on TV, PC, or through one of 20 million DivX certified consumer electronic devices.
