Haier shows off connected home theater products at CES Unveiled

The Digital Trends crew is on the ground at the Venetian in Las Vegas where we, along with a hoard of ravenous press people, have spent the last hour or so crammed in a room clamoring for images and video of a handful of products while a surprisingly large group of laid back onlookers casually eat shrimp cocktail and sip on wine.

We managed to fight our way to the front of the line at Haier’s display, where we got a first look at some of the company’s latest offerings. Unfortunately, due to some unanticipated microphone difficulties, our video is conspicuously missing audio. No matter, we’ve got narrative!

Listed in the order that they appear in the video: The ViewHD iPad dock with built-in speaker for beefed up audio and an HDMI output for connection to a larger display.

The display sitting next to the iPad dock is Haier’s entry level Core Series LCD TV, available in sizes ranging from 19″-42″, all featuring 1080p resolution, auto volume leveler and SRS Tru Surround.

Below the Core series LCD we see Haier’s$399  SVEV40-3D 40” 3D Sound Bar which uses proprietary processing to create a three dimensional surround effect.

Next, we see the $349 SBEV40-SLIM a 1.1″ deep 2.1 channel sound bar with 2.4gHz wireless subwoofer and a total of 280 watts of power.

Finally, Haier’s edge lit Core Series LED TVs, which are available in sizes ranging from 22″-50″ and loaded with internet apps; further evidence that just about everyone will be offering internet connected, super slim LED TVs in 2012.

Cambridge Audio’s first AirPods Pro competitor has lossless audio, massive battery life
Cambridge Audio Melomania M100.

Cambridge Audio's new Melomania M100 wireless earbuds are the U.K. company's first model to offer active noise cancellation (ANC), a key feature of virtually every flagship model from competitors, including Apple's AirPods Pro. The Melomania M100 are priced at $219 and are available starting on March 27 at Amazon and other retailers.

While ANC is a big addition, Cambridge Audio appears to have caught up with the market in a number of other areas, too. The M100 has a case that supports wireless charging, and thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon Sound platform, the earbuds can receive lossless CD-quality audio from compatible smartphones, as well as lossy, hi-res audio at up to 24-bit/96kHz.
