The runaway hit of the publishing world is not only available as an audio book, but may be rented online.
Jiggerbug, Inc, is hoping to kickstart its audio rental business by offering the newest in the J.K. Rowling saga in audio book format. Modeled after Netflix, subscribers receive audio books in the mail, and they’re returned in a pre-addressed, postage paid envelope.
The officially licensed audio title for the “Half-Blood Price†is narrated by Jim Dale, and spans 17 CDs. The book is offered in 3 parts, and lasts 26 hours and 30 minutes total. In the book, Mr. Dale plays 134 characters.
Book titles may be requested on either CD or cassette tape, and Jiggerbug boasts a library of 25,000 titles. Memberships start at a monthly $19.95 for unlimited rentals sent one at a time. Also offered is a premium service for people who want to check out more than one book at a time.
