Trade group related to roll out of digital radio announces expansion into new markets as it continues to push its HD2 multicast programming.
The HD Digital Radio Alliance, a trade group dedicated to the rollout of HD digital radio, yesterday announced the continued expansion of HD2 multicast programming to 22 additional markets. This brings the total number of markets thus far to 50.
In this new wave of expansion, said the HD Digital Radio Alliance, 42 of the top 50 markets now get HD2 programming. HD2 programming, for those unfamiliar with it, gives radio stations the ability to broadcast multiple channels of different audio programs over a single radio frequency in higher quality sound.
