I was at Frye’s the other day and they had a ton of movies for less then $20, and some even under $10.

How is $3/disc any different than when recordable DVDs first came out? The prices for new media are aligned. It's about yield, the more you make, the cheaper they get. Blu-ray just isn't there yet.

Get the JVC and play your regular DVD movies. Then when Blu-ray prices come down you can buy them.

For the record, there are a ton of Blu-ray movies for under $20 out there. With a lot under $15 already.

An analyst I talked to this morning said that Blu-ray is going to continue to come down in price, and we have the approaching 3D TV revolution to thank for that.

I have a feeling this JVC model will be a big hit for the holidays.

Blu-ray players are finally down to a price I would actually consider buying one at, but the actual discs are still extraordinarily expensive. $25 for Transformers on Blu-ray, are you kidding me? Recordable Blu-ray discs cost like $3 apiece now, and that’s on the consumer end. We know there’s no Willy Wonka magic going into making these things that makes the final product worth $25. Quit bending consumers over for the content while reaping enormous margins and maybe this format will actually go somewhere.
