JVC Takes LCD Refresh to 120Hz

JVC's has introduced two new 32- and 37-inch LCD televisions with lightning fast 120 Hz refresh rates for flicker-free performance.

Consumer electronics maker JVC announced two new 32-inch and 37-inch LCD televisions. What makes the 32-inch LT-32X987 and 37-inch LT-37X987 interesting is not the screen real estate and 1366 by 768 resolutions they offer, but the 120 Hz refresh rate used by the displays, double the typical 60 Hz seen in LCD panels, and substantially quicker than the 75 Hz offered by many higher-quality displays.

The two units use LVC’s new Clear Motion Drive, which outputs images at 120 frames per second, and inserts an interpolated image

Good new! I'm so exitec about this.

The problems have never been the ms as the manufactures want you to belive, it have been the stupid (sorry) 60 Hz refresh all the time. You can't play games with just 60 Hz refresh. My 19" which I'm using right now is able to do 150 Hz in 640x480/800x600 and 120 in 1024x768.

I built a new computer a year ago and I bought a LCD for the first time. Talk about getting disappointed when the screen could not make it over 60 Hz over the Digital Interface. I mean, 60 Hz was what we were looking at 9-10 years ago on our 15" CRT-screens. I had to plug it in to the Analog Interface on the GFX-card to get the screen to at least 75 Hz so I could look at it for more the 1 minute without headache. I had all drivers installed for the screen. I have no idea how anyone could use a screen that uses just 60 Hz, I can't stand it and it's not good for the eyes. These new LCD panels may finaly conquer the Gaming-market where gamers today knows that a CRT performs better then a LCD. With a pixel response time under 1ms and more then 160 Hz and superior colors the CRT have always been the screen of choice. Finaly, LCD have been able to make it to where CRTs where years ago. I will buy one of these if the produce any 17" or 19" computer panels.

Hope you guys can test one soon :)
