LG Offers LBX 1080p LCD Displays in U.S.

LG's top-of-the-line LBX LCD displays are now available at U.S. retailers, offering full 1080p resolutions and 42, 47, and 52-inch screen sizes.

LG Electronics is now offering its top-of-the-line LBX series of LCD television displays at U.S. retailers. Nicknamed the "Opus" series, the displays offer full 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh technology for smooth imge flow, and TruColor technology which offers 92 percent of the NTSC color spectrum. The displays are available in 42-, 47-, and 52-inch sizes at suggested prices of $2,499, $3,299, and $4,499, respectively.

"The Opus series blends top-notch performance with elegant design to support custom installation professionals as their customers demand the latest HDTV technology to incorporate into their stylish living spaces," said Allan Jason, LG USA’s VP of consumer electronics marketing, in a statement. "This new series is a perfect combination of technology and design for today’s high-end, custom home theater environments and strengthens LG’s position as a leader in premium flat-panel displays."

The LBX displays offer a 178° viewing angle, impressive 10,000:1 contrast ratios, and 500 cd/m² brightness. Each sport NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners, there HDCP-enabled HDMI inputs, and USB ports for connecting digital cameras and camcorders. Each display also comes with LG’s XD Engine, which can upscale standard definition content to near-HD levels; the displays also support HDMI-CEC for one-remote control of high-definition peripherals, along with LG’s SimpLink technology to control SimpLink-enabled gear.
