DivX is gaining new ground in the CE world with their announced partnership with LG Electronics who will be launching a new DivX compatible DVD product line in Canada.
LG’s new DVD player line will consist of thirteen new DVD products, ranging from portable players to DVD recorders and even entire home theater systems.
The DivX Certified DVD devices from LG include three different HTIB (home theater in a box) systems, four DVD recorders, and four DVD player devices, including a portable DVD player.
Unfortunately there is no word on whether LG plans to introduce these new products to the U.S. market.
Early last month, LG Electronics announced their new PY2DR 50″ and 60″ plasma sets featuring a built-in 160GB hard drive capable of recording high definition content.
LG has been pushing to the forefront of technology with several recent product announcements.
