Philips debuts integrated digital systems

Philips is to introduce a pair of fully integrated digital systems, the LX8200SA and MX5800SA, combining high-end home entertainment with DVD and Super Audio CD in one system.

These new Philips home entertainment systems offer features to create a better audio and video experience, as well as fit perfectly into consumers’ individual needs.

Merging Audio and Video Innovations: Philips LX8200SA
The compelling home entertainment product, the LX8200SA, incorporates DCDiâ„¢ Faroudja Progressive Scan technology to produce crisp and clear images and the best signal quality for the ultimate in video quality.

The system also features multichannel Super Audio CD, to provide a total immersion in music. Including a 100-Watt subwoofer and complete 5-speaker package, the LX8200SA features a full 300-Watts of total power.

Utilizing Philips’ patented wOOxâ„¢ technology, inside the subwoofer, the system provides incredibly powerful deep bass and emanates a crystal clear sound from the elegant, slim, omni-directional ribbon tweeters speakers. The unique design, which produces sound at the front and back at the same time. The difference with common speakers becomes very clear when playing Super Audio CD discs where the clarity of the music is of excellent quality.

The new Philips MX5800SA provides consumers a five DVD/Super Audio CD Home Entertainment System.

The 5.1 multichannel Super Audio CD player features the latest in audio sound reproduction. Omni-directional tweeters provide a crystal clear sound in a multi-channel environment.
To enhance listening enjoyment, Philips has included its new Twin Subâ„¢ system, which uses forced air to improve bass reproduction, adding depth and realism to your movie and audio experience. An innovative loudspeaker concept with two subwoofers integrated in the speakers’ columns.

Listeners also tailor their listening to their living room layout. Seating Control is a unique positional sound control that enables direct adjustment of the sound to the seating position in a room, by automatically configuring the speakers. By selection the shape of the users’ room via the On Screen Display, the sound setting will be adjusted and optimized to the room layout.

The MX5800SA comes with a Cinema Center Speaker with five multi-directional speaker drives. These speakers are positioned so that the sound comes from the right direction with the right depth. Precisely positioned at different angles, these five speakers provide a “through the screen” experience.
