  1. Ian Bell and Dan Gaul at 12:39pm 17th August 2005 Projection TV's have the shortest lifespan and their bulbs are prone to go out the most frequent.

    Plasma's have a 30,000+ hour lifespan which is about 10 years, the same as a tradtional CRT based set. My guess is that LCD is about the same or worse as plasma. It would seem that with as many parts as LCD sets have including transistors, something is likely to go.
  2. fungku at 10:45am 17th August 2005 Does it matter? In 10 years you'll be able to buy something way better, or buy something similiar at a very cheap price. 10 years is a LONG time. I've never had a TV for 10 years.

    projection 10-15yrs and lcd 25yrs. Is this correct?
