ReplayTV PC Edition to ‘Redefine’ DVRs

ReplayTV today announced ReplayTV PC Edition, the company’s long-anticipated DVR software for PCs. ReplayTV PC Edition promises users “the ultimate DVR experience,” combining an intuitive interface with multi-room networking capabilities and quick searching tools.

“For many consumers, their PCs are the center of their entertainment life for music photos and the Internet. And with the PC experiencing exponential growth as an entertainment platform, it’s natural that TV and DVR will be a central experience on the PC. We’ve created an affordable DVR that lets everyone in the home enjoy TV on the computer. Amazon announces OLED Fire TV, Fire TV soundbar, and new Fire TV Cube

Amazon has kicked off IFA 2019 with a bang, announcing its first OLED Fire TV Edition and Fire TV Edition Soundbar, a new 65-inch Toshiba Fire TV Edition with Dolby Vision HDR, a refreshed Fire TV Cube, and new partnerships that'll see the Fire TV Edition sold in additional markets.

First up, the OLED Fire TV Edition. It has been built in collaboration with German manufacturer Grundig and is available in two sizes: 65 or 55 inches, both of which can be had with either far-field voice control (through Alexa, of course) or without. But it's the screen that is important here.

Amazon dropped prices on most Fire TV products in a combination of back-to-school and Labor Day sales. Now that the excitement of Prime Day 2019 has worn off, retailers worldwide are prepping for a busy fall season packed with special sales. Amazon didn't hesitate to take significant price cuts on the Fire TV products.

All Fire TV devices work hands-free with voice commands from Alexa, a point underscored by the inclusion of a free Amazon Echo Dot with the 11 Insignia and Toshiba Fire TV Edition televisions on sale. Amazon also cut prices on two of its biggest selling products year-round, the Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick 4K, both bundled with an Alexa Voice Remote. There are also healthy discounts on both versions of the Fire TV Recast streaming video DVR.
