Cnet is reporting that Ripe Digital Entertainment will be launching their new Video On Demand channel January 17th, targeting males ages 18 to 34.
“It will also aim to appeal to the digital generation–whose members are growing increasingly accustomed to getting content how and when they want it–with more than 1,500 hours of on-demand programming. Comcast subscribers will be able to watch RipeTV’s free videos anytime with fast-forwarding, pause and rewinding features.”
By the way Cnet describes RipeTV, it sounds very similar to MTV with its programming which includes music video and “Jack-ass” style shows. The question is whether this age group can afford the euipment necessary to view this programming.
