Samsung Electronics Co, Ltd has emerged as the No 1 thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT-LCD) producer on the global stage, according to a US market search firm.
DisplaySearch, the market research organization, announced on June 8 that Samsung Electronics outsold LG.Philips LCD Co, Ltd in the first quarter of 2004, gaining the top position in global market share.
Samsung accounted for 23.5% of the market share, followed by LG.Philips with 20.8%, and by Taiwan maker AU Optronics with 13.2% in the corresponding period.
