Samsung Launches BD-P1000 Blu-Ray Player

New Samsung player has great features for a decent price - that is if you have recently won the lottery.

Samsung is looking to really make a dent in the war of next-gen DVDs. Their new BD-P1000 Blu-Ray Disc Player is hitting stores June 25th  and will only cost $999. The player will be packed withlots of features and will be in stores soon enough to combat Toshiba’s HD-DVD players. No worries about getting your hands on movies to watch either.  Netflix will be offering Blu-Ray rentalsthrough their service at no additional cost with about 200 titles to be released by the year’s end.

The BD-P1000 not only looks great too, but it’s feature rich for it’s “low” price of $999. It will feature full HDMI output, a 10-in-2 card reader, 1080p playback, a slew of inputs such as S-Videoand Component, and will playback older formats such as DVD and DVD-RW. Those waiting for other Blu-Ray players should probably stop holding their breath and seriously consider the BD-P1000 for bothits release date and price. The only way you’ll be viewing movies any cheaper will be with the PS3.

  3. josh at 2:02pm 16th June 2006 it's not the same player for 600 dollars. do more research first, then open mouth
  4. Fran at 9:15am 15th June 2006 $999 is ridiculously high for a Blu-Ray player, expecially when you can get the HD-DVD counterpart for under $600.
