Samsung Electronics is launching a new DVD player, featuring HD image quality and Digital Visual Interface (DVI) port for the Korean market.
Unlike most consumer DVD players, which convert digitally recorded images to analog, the Samsung DVD-HD593 sends unconverted digital signals through the DVI, thus preserving the image quality completely. The digital output converts standard definition signals (480i) to high definition quality (720P, 1080i) for a much improved viewing experience.
DVD-HD593 also features Digital Correlational Deinterlacing (DCDi), a new visual algorithm that optimizes visual output to both analog and digital TVs.
