When it comes to variety and sound quality, satellite-radio competitors Sirius and XM deliver the goods. Once you've heard it, you might never listen to FM or AM radio again.
Quote from the review at Wired.com
“So what’s not to like about satellite radio? For one thing, you’ll have to decide between the two competitors, since XM hardware won’t work with Sirius gear. FCC-mandated interoperability is still several years away, according to a Sirius executive.
If that decision is not enough to slow your headfirst dive into satellite radio, the array of hardware options sold by the two companies’ partners can be bewildering. And the price tag for getting into the game can be somewhat steep, especially when you take into account installation costs you’ll incur if you have an after-market system installed in your automobile (more on that later).”
