Sharp has decided to buy a stake in German electronics maker Loewe. Sharp already has a relationship with Loewe and provides the LCD's used in their TV's.
Sharp Corp will acquire 700,000, or 8.9%, of the outstanding shares of German consumer electronics maker Loewe AG for 4.3 million euros, or 567 million yen, company officials said Wednesday.
Sharp, which supplies its liquid crystal display televisions to Loewe on an original equipment manufacturing basis, aims to strengthen its ties with the German firm through the deal, the officials said.
