I live in Baltimore city and have bought a converter box so that I can watch digital programming on my analoge set. The first attempt was the purchase of Circuit City's Samsung model of which only showed on my screen as "no signal" no matter the channel or antenna'e placement. I exchanged it for another brand and that worked, or worked so so. It turns out that my reception characteristics changed drastcally. Whereas I used to get D.C., Annapolis and Baltimore stations on my "rabbit ears" Now I can marginably get the local ones that are within eyeshot of my apartment. I must use analoge to continue getting the local 67. What is a person supposed to do? Erect a tower with multiple frequency tuned high gain Yagi's each one pointing to its channel source? Hello? This is not "Field Day" amateur radio competition folks!! This is not SCA radio broadcast of which also is 10% of the regular power of an FM broadcaster. WAKE UP FCC or else face utter failure in the broadcast industry.

I have found that a lot of people with HDTV sets don't realize that you can get HDTV signals over the air. I think a lot of people buy an HDTV set under the presumption that it will not be outdated anytime soon, not because they really care about receiving HDTV broadcasts.
