TiVo And Comcast Sign Deal

In what surely has to be a life-saver for TiVo, the PVR company has signed a strategic partnership with Comcast.

“The companies said the deal will make TiVo’s service widely available to Comcast  customers in the majority of the cable company’s U.S. markets. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

In addition, the pair plan to co-develop a version of the TiVo service for Comcast’s current primary digital video recording platform. This calls for TiVo to develop software for incorporation in Comcast’s existing network platforms.”

You can expect the new service to be available towards Q3 in 2006.
