Toshiba Debuts Thin-Bezel Regza LCD TVs

Toshiba says its new 40- and 46-inch Regza LCD high-definition televisions sport the world's thinnest LCD TV bezel.

At this year’s CEDIA Expo, Toshiba debuts two new additions to its Regza line of high definition televisions, claiming that the new units offer the “World’s Thinnest LCD TV Bezel,” measuring less than one inch wide. The idea is to let consumers put more usable screen space in a smaller area, letting them see the thing they want to look at—the picture—rather than the boring frame around it

“Our new Regza LCD line has already been a huge success,” said Scott Ramirez, Toshiba’s VP of marketing. “We have set new standards in picture quality with our PixelPure 14-bit internal processing, and we will now set a new standard in design with the world’s thinnest LCD TV bezel.”

The new SNB (super-narrow bezel) models feature 1080p Full HD resolution10-bit LCD screens for more accurate color reproduction, and also support xvYCC input. The units offer three HDMI inputs along with a PC input for handling WXGA and SXGA output&hhellip;you know, in case it ever crossed your mind to hook up a PC game to a big screen TV.

Toshiba plans to ship the 40- and 46-inch SNB Regzas this month for prices of $1,899.99 and $2,499.99 respectively.
