Two New Canon Multimedia LCD Projectors

Canon's new LV-7230 and LV-S4 multimedia projectors are engineered to attract buyers with performance and price, while impressing audiences with quality images.

From the press release:

The new LV-7230 projector weighs 6.4 pounds, features 2000 ANSI Lumens and delivers native XGA resolution image quality. The LV-S4 weighs 5.l pounds, features 1500 ANSI Lumens and delivers SVGA resolution images.

The LV-7230 model boasts a 380:1 contrast ratio and a low 34dB operating noise level in Silent Mode, while the LV-S4 offers a contrast ratio of 300:1 and an impressive 33dB noise level. Regarding image uniformity, the LV-S4 offers 85% while the LV-7230 offers 90%. Both projectors feature a digital keystone adjustment of +/-20 degrees (vertical), progressive-scan circuitry that converts a 480i (NTSC) or 575i (PAL) signal to progressive display using 2:3 pulldown for improved image quality when projecting film-originated DVDs or TV content, and a customizable logo display that lets users display their favorite image, company, or school logo on the start-up screen.

For classroom applications, both projectors are equipped with a Greenboard mode, which provides teachers and lecturers lacking access to a screen the convenience of projecting directly onto a green chalkboard while the projector automatically adjusts the color balance to offer more natural results.

The LV-7230 and LV-S4 projectors can be connected to a Canon camcorder or digital camera, as well as a laptop, DVD player, VCR, or other devices, which provides users with the ability to create high-impact presentations in any environment. Both models include a VGA output terminal for sending a signal to a computer monitor. The two projectors are also equipped with a wireless remote control, user-friendly on-screen display menu, and the LV-7230 even includes a USB mouse control that enhances operation function and ease. A pin code and key lock function, available on both models, prevents unauthorized users from accessing the projector.

Businesses and educators can also benefit from the optional LV-RCO2 Presentation Kit, a remote control with USB Remote Receiver that can be used as a wireless mouse, and can control key projector functions commonly used during a presentation.

The Canon LV-7230 projector, available in April, has a suggested list price of $2,299*; the LV-S4 projector, available in May, has a suggested list price of $1399*. The LV-RC02 Presentation Kit, also available in May, has a suggested list price of $120*. All models may be purchased at authorized Canon dealers.
