ViewSonic debuts VPW450HD plasma display

The 42-inch VPW450HD offers enhanced performance and high-definition picture clarity in a professional design at an MSRP of $4999.

With a native resolution of 1024×1024, the VPW450HD supports all data sources and video signals including HDTV, Enhanced Definition Television (EDTV) and standard television.   A contrast ratio of up to 1000:1,   brightness level of up to 1000 cd/m2 and XtremeViewâ„¢ ultra-wide viewing angles up to 160 degrees make the display ideal for high performance television and video, as well as today’s advanced presentation applications, such as videoconferencing, advertising and retail signage.

Advanced features enable end-users to simultaneously create, view and customize picture-in-picture, split-screen or full-screen windows for data, video and TV signals.  The built-in tuner and progressive scan technology produce the highest quality video possible and NextVisionâ„¢ technology adds brightness and depth to the picture, ensuring a clear image and optimum viewing experience. 

Compatible with both PC and Mac® computer systems, the VPW450HD features DVI, S-Video, component and composite video connections, while integrated speakers provide virtual surround sound capabilities. A stand, remote control and carrying case are included and the lightweight display can be easily attached to a wall or a ceiling with an optional mounting kit.

Beginning in July 2003, the VPW450HD will be available through authorized ViewSonic resellers and retailers.  It is backed by a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor with onsite service that ultimately reduces downtime and minimizes shipping risk.
