Volvo To Carry Sirus Satellite Radio

Sirius is now available as an exclusive dealer-installed accessory in the following 2005 model year Volvo vehicles.

  • Volvo S80
  • Volvo S60
  • Volvo V70
  • Volvo XC70

These Volvo vehicles come with factory-equipped radios that are SIRIUS-ready, and display artist, song title and category when playing SIRIUS. To facilitate dealer installations, Volvo also offers a pre-wire solution as a factory installed option. To obtain SIRIUS service, the dealer must install a SIRIUS receiver and antenna. Pricing is available at local Volvo dealerships.

When customers purchase the Volvo SIRIUS Satellite Radio kit, have it installed, and pre-pay $142.45 for 11-months of service at $12.95 per month, they will automatically receive 13 months of SIRIUS service, or two additional months at no extra cost. Plus, for a limited time only, Volvo will reimburse customers for the full cost of the subscription. This offer applies to Volvo SIRIUS Satellite Radio kits purchased from March 1 to May 31 of this year.

SIRIUS is also expected to be available in additional Volvo vehicles in the near future.

  1. Greg at 9:33pm 26th May 2006 I am not postive, but is it possible to have satelite radio in the 2006 s40?
  2. Bob tab at 10:39am 1st March 2006 I have a 2005 S60R and even though i paid for the $65 prewiring up front the dealer wants $650.00 to integrate satellite radio into the system. Is there any other way to avoid these high costs other than purchasing an external satellite receiver and needing to run a wire outsie the car for an antenna mount?
  3. Wayne Merk at 7:38pm 9th January 2006 I too am looking for a solution to install Sirius in my 2004 XC90. I was told by Crutchfield that I could get a small unit that would go between the back of the factory radio and the Factory fiber optic antenna. It is almost like a splitter, and when the satellite is running that will be inputed in to the radio directly. Is this possible and what other options are available.

    Thank you
  4. Sam Kettani at 1:15pm 21st December 2005 Is there a solution to connect "direct" modulator for the satellite radio (XM or Sirius) to the Volvo XC 90? I am having a challenge to connect the satellite radio with the Volvo's manufacturer radio using hardwiring FM connection. All the connection are fiber optic and there is no adaptor.
  5. Terry Silva at 6:21pm 10th November 2005 I am interested in getting satellite radio in my new 2005 volvo xc 70 wagon. It is prewired so I told. I paid the extra $65.00 for the feature. Any ideas without going through the dealership ?
  6. Ian Bell and Dan Gaul at 11:02am 31st August 2005 Most likely you will have to use an FM modulator product unless the S40 comes with the wiring harness you need (satellite ready).
