VOOM Reports Subscriptions Reach 25K

HDTV-centric direct broadcast satellite TV provider VOOM reports it has approximately 25,000 customers as of June 30.

The satellite service, which originally launched last October, last reported 8,000 activations at the end of April.

In the second quarter, Rainbow DBS had net revenues of $2.7 million from subscription fees and equipment sales and rental income on satellite TV receivers and equipment.

The service’s operating loss for the second quarter was $81.5 million.

So far user reviews for the HDTV service have been very negative as customers report installation problems, poor customer service and lower than expected quality of the signal reception. I4U.com has some great user reviews which you can check out here.
