Broadcast plans, say satellite radio company, include coverage of every championship game via home and visting teams' broadcasts as well as news and highlights.

XM Satellite Radio today announced they will be offering multiple play-by-play broadcasts for each Major League Baseball championship game as part of their relationship with the baseball league. This coverage will span from the Championship Series in both divisions to the World Series.

The specific coverage lineup by channel, XM said, will soon be available on their website. They will carry the home and visiting teams’ broadcasts for every game of the American League Championship Series (ALCS), National League Championship Series (NLCS), and the 2005 World Series, in addition to the national ESPN Radio feed for all these games.

In addition to this, the satellite radio company’s dedicated MLB channel will offer coverage of all that is going on via team news, game updates, interviews and highlights.

"During the League Championship Series and World Series XM subscribers will have the choice of hearing three different play-by-play feeds, making XM’s coverage of the 2005 LCS and World Series a complete experience for baseball fans," said Eric Logan, executive vice president of programming for XM Satellite Radio.

  1. nan hulme at 9:30am 8th October 2005 I was thrilled when I read of this in September. (MLB access is the chief reason that I signed on to xm.) However, it hasn't happened!!?! I've written several e-mails (no response)and I called the xm customer assistance number. The man with whom I spoke obviously knew nothing about baseball and also did not speak English well (is xm outsourcing?). He took my cell phone number and said someone would call back. That has not happened either. I am very disappointed, especially as I much prefer the homefeed for some of the teams in the playoffs. Does anyone care??? Please respond. NK Hulme
