Gizmon iCA iPhone case takes the cake for retro-camera design

This is not the thinnest or sleekest iPhone case we’ve ever seen, so if that’s what you’re looking for you can turn around right now. This funky case might be for you if you happen to be one of those people who complains that things just aren’t like they used to be and secretly wishes with nostalgia that they were born 40 years ago. For those of you out there who are stuck with high-tech iPhones but like to wax nostalgic about the analog days, the Gizmon iCA iPhone case ($65) is just what the doctor ordered.

This well-designed and impressively-retro case for the iPhone is made of tough polycarbonate and comes in two parts that slide together to protect and retro-fy your phone. The case looks just like an old camera and has enough useful features to makes its bigger size worthwhile. The case comes with two faux-lenses that attach to the front of the case; both contain a mirror to make self-portraits easier. A physical shutter button functions by pressing down on the volume button to capture a photo, and the case even incorporates an optical viewfinder to help you frame your images. The included detachable tripod-mount is great for night shots and longer exposures, and a mount surrounding the iPhone’s lens works with additional lens accessories. As if that wasn’t already enough, the case also has spots to attach your chosen neck strap, if you want to really get into the photography theme.

It definitely seems like this case will make it seem like you are carrying around a slim camera instead of a phone, what with the tactile protruding elements and faux-lens, but with the steep rise in iPhone photography, maybe that’s not a bad thing? The case comes in brown, black, and white to further customize your nostalgic style.
