The trend of diverting from basic neoprene laptop cases has gone far enough to now include wood as a viable protective material. In the unique category we have the Silva Bamboo MacBook Pro Case ($180), which is made completely of carmel bamboo. The briefcase-style covering is solid-sheet bamboo that is CNC-cut and assembled and sanded by hand. The case has a leather handle that is cut, shaped, and oiled and burnished by hand for a comfortable grip. Smooth wool lining inside the case keeps your MacBook Pro protected and scratch-free. While the company warns that the case might not make it through a heavy fall, your computer most likely would. And that’s the important part, right? If you’re willing to pay the hefty pricetag, the Silva case will keep your laptop protected and make for a unique, eye-catching accessory. The case is available in 13 and 15-inch sizes, but the company is planning to expand to several other Apple products as well.
