Be sure to check what you can get for those CDs at a used record store, as "space hodding CDs" are still very much in demand. The better value for me was had by selling them and paying for the service.

I've answered my own question; I found it online. ipodmeister.com. They rip your CD's for free. You ship your CD's to them for free (they provide UPS shipping labels). You pick out a brand new ipod for yourself, which is sent free in it's packaging along with your new digital files. The only catch? They keep your old CD's. I call it an incredible deal! BTW, I've already done this and received my music and iPod! Their service and communication was fantastic!

CD ripping services make media files a lot more practical to use. Why carry a box of CD's with you when you can just ripp them and place the files on a USB flash drive.
