Taking a screenshot with an iPhone or iPod Touch running firmware 3.0 or later is an incredibly simple process, but if you’re not familiar with Apple products it can be a bit confusing. Follow the steps below to learn how.
1. Locate the Buttons. The two buttons you need to take a screenshot are the Home and Sleep buttons. The Home button is the round one located at the bottom of the screen — it should be in the same spot regardless of whether you’re using an iPhone or iPod Touch.
The Sleep button is located on the top right edge of the iPhone, and on the top left edge of the iPod Touch. It doesn’t matter what generation your device is. Apple has kept these button locations constant in every generation so far.
2. Take a screenshot. Press the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously. Your screen should briefly flash white, and you’ll hear a camera shutter sound.
3. Locate your screenshots. To find the screenshots you just took, go to your photos and look in the camera roll. They’ll probably be found toward the bottom since they’re the latest images to be added.
