Apple Board Meeting To Discuss Schmidt Replacement

Reports are that the Apple board will meet tomorrow to discuss a replacement for Google chief exec Eric Schmidt.
Apple won’t say either way, of course, but according to a Wall Street Journal report, the Apple board is set to convene tomorrow to set about finding a replacement for Google chief executive Eric Schmidt.
He’s stepped down from the board after regulators expressed concern about collusion, which had become more acute following Google’s entry into the phone software market. That’s also prompted scrutiny from the FTC on what, if anything, might be going on between the two companies.
Arthur Levinson, who’s chairman of Genentech, is also on the boards of both Google and Apple. What will happen to his position remains unclear.
