China Swears Off Spam

Stopping spam becomes an international effort, including the United States, Britian and now China.

In an effort to stymie annoying spam, the Chinese government joined the US and the UK this past weekend. China agreed to sign the London Action Plan on Spam Enforcement Collaboration. In London in October 2004, The UK Office of Fair Trade and the US Federal Trade Commission began the London Action Plan after a conference hosted by the two countries. Focusing exclusively on spam eradication was the focus of the international forum. As one of the largest origins of spam, China produces as much as twenty percent of junk e-mail sent, clogging servers and filing mailboxes around the world. Read more here.
