IBM Set To Cut 5,000 Jobs

Along with the layoffs, the company could also move some of its operations to India.
There have been a number of reports that IBM is preparing a very serious round of layoffs, up to 5,000 globally. The company made no comment on the matter, nor would it reveal how many had already been given pink slips this year, although that figure is rumored to be around 4,000 people.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company is also preparing to move some of its operations to India, and last month began offering some of those laid off in the US positions in India.
Reuters has also revealed that IBM is in talks to buy Sun Microsystems.
