Man Convicted Under DMCA

A software pirate has been convicted under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of selling counterfeit Microsoft product activation keys.
Adonis Gladney has made history as the first person convicted under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of circumventing security controls in software. He was found guilty of one count of DMCA violation and three counts of mail fraud.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Missakian told CNET that Gladney is like to receive a custodial sentence.
Gladney sold bulk software licenses through his sites, with CDs of Microsoft software and fake activation codes. He reportedly earned $3 million from his activities, and owned two Lamborghinis. Among his customers…the US Marines.
