The UK government probably wants to hire him. ;P Doubtful he'll spend any time in jail. Hacking into NASA, USAA, USAAF, USAN, and DOD? That guy's getting hired into the British SIS or something. ;P

It is rather unhealthy in the first instance, for Mr Gary McKinnon to hack into the privacy of the United States.

The law on the other hand, making provision for reasons not to prosecute an offender due to surposed illhealth is rather shameful. For a crime as serious as breaking into a nation's security activity is unexcusable. I think the law should stop shielding criminaly minded persons on whatever grounds.

For Mr McKinnon to hack into such a sensitive part of a nation's welbeing means he would be capable of selling such findings to big time enemy of the state of America.

He should be punished by those he has hurt.
