Yahoo, Google Talk To Justice

Yahoo and Google are in talks with the Department of Justice in an attempt to stop an antitrust challenge to their ad agreement.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Google and Yahoo are in talks with the Department of Justice in order to stop an antitrust challenge to their ad deal.

But even as they’re doing that, the Justice Department has brought in a legal expert to decide whether they could win an antitrust case at trial.

Under the partnership, Google would supply ads on Yahoo searches, bringing revenue to Yahoo. The problem to some is that it would make Google even more ubiquitous and powerful in the marketplace. Originally Yahoo was willing to give the Justice Department three and a half months to review the proposal.
