Description
Technology supersite DigitalTrends.com - the everyday reader's guide to the world of gadgets, consumer electronics and the high-tech lifestyle - is looking for an experienced leader to help define and implement the site's overall editorial direction and voice.
Primary responsibilities include spearheading planning and implementation of the website's unique, consumer-focused editorial outlook and coordinating all aspects of daily production from sourcing product for coverage to managing junior editors, overseeing copy/image delivery, composing articles and editing and preparing content for publication. Editorial Director will also act as primary point of contact between editorial and advertising, business development and publicity departments concerning issues including content planning, scheduling/upkeep of editorial calendar and scope of new content, and will attend and contribute to all content-related meetings and discussions. Editorial Director will further manage editorial budget and be responsible for the recruitment and oversight of freelance contributors, and must be able to edit and produce special projects as needed.
The position requires a BA, BS or equivalent experience. Candidates must have at least five years of journalism experience minimum in a competitive, deadline-driven media environment and excellent knowledge of consumer electronics and related high-tech industries. Ideal applicant is a flexible, motivated and detail-oriented self-starter with proven project and personnel management skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with others. Experience with online publishing preferred.

Required Skills:
* 5-10 years' experience writing and editing consumer-focused content
* Prior supervisory expertise
* In-depth knowledge of consumer electronics and high-tech industries
* Journalism degree preferred
* Ability to calmly and diligently juggle multiple results-oriented initiatives under tight turnaround times
