Of the three Chromebooks that are coming out in 2011 the Acer AC700 Chromebook is the least expensive of the bunch. It’s also the smallest rolling in at about 3.2 pounds with an 11.6-inch display. Acer claims that the battery lasts for 6 hours of continuous use.
The Acer AC700 runs on an Intel dual-core Atom Processor N570 with 2 gigs of RAM. Connectivity is provided by built-in dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, and an optional 3G modem. There is an HD webcam built-in, 2 USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI port. There’s also a 4-in-1 memory card slot. The Acer AC700 comes at under 300 at $299.
