If the big names in operating systems have got you down, Dell has the answer with the XPS 13 Developer Edition, which features a 13.3 inch 1080p display and an Intel core i5 processor, and runs Ubuntu Linux instead of the usually pre-installed Windows 8. In addition, the XPS 13 Developer Edition is equipped with a touchscreen and touchpad gesture support, and beta access to Dell’s Linux-based tools and software.
While it’s likely this version of the XPS 13 is called the Developer Edition because of the issues that require troubleshooting in a Linux environment, the specs are on par with the regular XPS 13, and is a fine option for those looking to roll up their sleeves and get more involved with their operating system.
