Hewlett-Packard has in stock a new affordable 15.6-inch notebook – the AMD-based HP 2000z, which is even cheaper than the recently unveiled Intel version.

Starting at $349.99, the HP 2000z is powered by AMD Fusion chips from Ontario and Zacate family. The basic configuration features the AMD Dual-Core C-50, with E-240 and E-350 options available, 2GB of RAM expandable to 4GB, 320-500GB HDD, a DVD burner, and a 6-cell battery for “up to 5.5 hours” of battery life. The display is glossy at 1366-by-768 pixels, and on the top of the LCD panel there’s a built-in web camera.

The laptop has 802.11n Wi-Fi, and very basic set of ports and slots including three USB 2.0 connectors, VGA, and a multi-in-one media card reader. HDMI is not present.

Customers can configure and purchase the HP 2000z via the HP official online store.
