Boot time is not 10 seconds like the ads claim, mine averages 5-6 seconds, which is better than any device I’ve ever used. Shutdown time is around 7 seconds.
It connected instantly and without trouble to my WiFi at home, for initial device setup. Within 2 minutes from opening the box, the device was ready, containing my imported Chrome bookmarks, favorites, etc. Very nice.
Any and all peripherals that I’ve connected to it have worked immediately.
Does not play VOB files natively, and I can’t find an app for it. Will play Matroska video files if you rename the extension to .mp4 (wtf!?).
Web browsing is seamless and fast, even for Flash heavy pages. This device outperformsmy 2.2 Ghz laptop and my 2.3 Ghz desktop.
Native support for filetypes, is passable, but not excellent. I can’t find an app for TIFF images, sadly, but I did find an app to read my .epub format books.
Battery life, at 50% brightness, with web browsing and a game here or there, is around eight hours. With a dim screen, working at night, nine or more. Outstanding battery life all around.
In general, I highly recommend this machine. Amazing value, ultraportable, long battery life, and decent functionality.
