Samsung thinned down the Series 9 laptops from 2011 with their new Series 9 ultra portable laptops for 2012.
During CES 2012 Samsung showed off their slimmed down Series 9 laptops. The company introduced two version in a 13.3-inch version and a 15-inch version. Outside of screen size and weight the specifications for the two are virtually the same so this review is focused on the 15-inch version. The biggest thing is that Samsung slimmed the laptop down to only 0.5-inches thick.
The laptop runs on a 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 2467M processor. It uses the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. One difference between the 13-inch and the 15-inch is that the 15 has 8 GBs of DDR3 while the 13 only has 4 GBs. Otherwise, both have 128 GB SSD of storage. The resolution on the screen is 1600 x 900 and displays the graphics from the Intel HD Graphics 3000 chip. There’s also a 1.3 MP webcam and a 4-in-1 SD card slot.
