starbucks is afraid of surfers squatting all day not buying five dollar coffees, att is afraid of too much bandwidth being sucked out of those locales without getting marketing info, yet wanting to encourage use.

Doesn't mcdonalds offer their att wifi for free ? Mcdonald actually has to beg for wlkin service as opposed to drive thru.

The confusion will come when that same deal is expected at a barnes and noble cafe featuring starbucks coffee and att wifi, where the starbucks gift cards
will not work anyway.

So is the iPhone free wifi deal returning?

When is Starbuck's going to realize that internet access is no longer a commodity? Moreover, the fact that they're a giant corporation with huge revenue makes it even more outrageous that they're still putting limits on it.

Lame, If I pay $5.00 for a drink that costs Starbucks $0.45 and I average about 5-6 drinks a week, I think they can just offer WiFi without question. I wish they had a rewards card that for every 10 drinks I buy, I would get one for free. Again, what's their cost?
