This biometric wallet has a Bluetooth proximity alarm, carbon fiber shell, and fingerprint sensor for maximum security. It will set the rich and paranoid back about $825.

Afraid someone might take something out of your wallet? If you have $825 to spend, fear no more. Dunhill is selling what it calls a “Biometric Wallet” that it claims is virtually indestructible and can only be opened with your fingerprint. Scared of someone taking the entire wallet? It can be linked to a mobile phone via Bluetooth and set to sound an alarm if your phone and wallet are separated by more than five meters (15 feet).

This wallet is built to be durable. It has a carbon fiber shell, leather interior, and stainless steel money clip. If only its design matched its top-notch construction. Almost any standard wallet looks slicker than this clamshell.

Would you invest more than $800 into a wallet? If so, what features would you require?

  2. Tara Cox at 9:41pm 25th March 2011 What I see as a major issue is that if you are in an accident the police and paramedics will check your wallet for identification and any medical or contact information that it may have in it. Well if you are bleeding profusly and the Dr's can only keep you alive for a few more hours this wallet could possibly lead to your poor spouse having no idea your laying dying somewhere because that nice police office has no idea who you are because your wallet can't be opened. Basically this is an extreme waste of money!
  3. Sam at 8:51pm 6th February 2011 I think it is awesome , but for $800. in addition to the alarm it should also have a lo jack type of tracking device on it.
  4. Luis Nok Outumuro at 8:30am 1st February 2011 Nice wallet, but it would be under-featured at half the price. For one, where is the RFID shielding. Too little for too much.

  20. ioman at 8:53pm 31st January 2011 Then you would cut your hand just trying to get the money out haha. I agree this is pretty ridiculous, but it is cool technology. The alarm feature is dumb. Of course people are not going to constantly have their wallet within 15 feet of their phone. For this price, it should be insured where if it gets stolen or open/tampered with, then the company reimburses you.
  21. Joe Ruane at 8:21pm 31st January 2011 I think it's kind of funny. After spending over $800 on a wallet, what would you put in it? If my wallet were to be $800 it would have to have at least some sort of precious gem or metal on it. Like those iPhones that are covered in gold and diamonds.
